Meeting in Romania 17th - 21st October 2011

14 teachers from 5 countries participated in the meeting.

The meeting was devoted to planning and learning tools for the Internet activities. All teachers took part in short drama activities.

The most important product of our partnership is the performance From Shadow to Light. We devoted our previous meetings to develop students and teachers skills and to choose themes. The process of creation was long and challenging. We had to drop ideas and work again to make the play more concise. Our director, a professional drama teacher  was patient and kind to teach all of us. The students from Slovakia had to bear our misunderstandings and lack of competence. They had gone through the whole play and were ready to act at any moment supporting their less experienced collegues. But we all made our best not to dissappoint the audience and ourselves.

Wednesday,

19th October

<--- Visiting school, Workshops in

the Royal Łazienki

Tuesday,

18th October

<---- The performance in Lalka

Other important issue that we are dealing with is the use of drama in the teaching and learning process. During the meeting the participants were in the Royal Łazienki not only to see the summer residence of the last king of Poland but to breathe the atmosphere of that time. Three groups had different kinds of activities and at the end of  the workshops they exchanged ideas and findings. The court theatre was the stage to study the audience of the 18th century.

Thursday,

20th October

<---- Workshop in the Old Town, meeting with the mayor of Warszawa Wesoła

Friday,

21st October

<---- Excursion to Łowicz, Maurzyce,

Blichowiacy show

Each partner cooperates well with local government, local culture centres and other organizations that help develop project objectives. This support is very important. Our students learn how to use the facilities and how to find people who can teach them necessary skills or lead through unknown procedures.

We also try to show pieces of local folklore - this is another part of the project connected with traditonal seasonal performances. In Mazovia we usually want to show Łowicz region which preserves tradition very well. The folk band Blichowiacy is a young band operating by the school.
